The Village of Pinehurst's parks offer a wide range of activities and miles of greenway trails.  
Southern Pines Trail System is located in and around Reservoir Park
Weymouth Woods State Park in Southern Pines has an extensive trail system and offers a variety of interpretive programs typically led by park rangers.
Bear Creek Trail System 150 Water Plant Rd  Robbins offers over eight miles of trails located along Bear and Cabin Creeks
Moore County Parks and Recreation is located at Hillcrest County Park Campus, Carthage

The Walther-Moss Foundation in Southern Pines offers a place for equestrian purposes.
Uwharrie National Forest and Badin Lake Recreation Area are in nearby Montgomery, Randolph and Davidson Counties.  Off-highway vehicle riding, camping, picnicking, hiking, horseback riding and camping, boating, canoeing, kayaking, jet skiing and water skiing, mountain biking, shooting range, hunting and fishing are available.
